ENSENADA, MEXICO

Ensenada is a city in the state of Baja California, Mexico. It is located about 70 miles south of Tijuana.
Ensenada is locally referred as Ensenada Baja La Bella Cenicienta Del Pacifico (The Cinderella Of The Pacific). One of the earliest activities in the Ensenada region was gold and silver mining, and some of these mines are still in limited operation.
Also One of the oldest bars in Mexico is located in Ensenada “Hussongs”. It is even said that the town was built around this bar. Ensenada's proximity to Californa also makes it a destination for short cruise ship trips from the Los Angeles area, and there are four ships that make weekly trips to Ensenada Mexico. Ensenada hosts several major events such as the world-renowned Baja 1000 off-road race, and the gray whale's annual migration from Alaska to the
lagoons of Baja California Sur. Ensenada also
produces 90% of all the wines in Mexico in the Valle of Guadalupe. This area has several wineries offering tasting's, and every year during the month of August, the beginning of wine harvest season is celebrated in the Guadalupe Valley and in the city of Ensenada with a two week long series of cultural and culinary events, all under the title banner of Fiestas de la Vendimia (Wine Harvest Festival). This event attracts people from all over the world.

Ensenada, one of Mexico's most successful cities, has grown from a sleepy fishing village to become a popular beach resort. This oft-visited Baja destination is a multi-faceted jewel. Among its most popular locations are the waterfront promenade, the
fashionable shops of Avenida Primera, and the winery of Bodega Santo Tomas, founded by the Dominicans in 1888. La Bufadora, a natural sea geyser located nearby, puts on a highly dramatic show.
